John John Florence has returned to the water after over 4 months out, since rupturing his ACL in his right knee during the Oi Rio Pro in Brazil in June this year. The injury- the second to his knee in a 13-month period- resulted in Florence having to undergo full reconstructive surgery, followed by an intensive rehabilitation programme.
Announcing on his Instagram on November 12 “It feels good to be back in the water. Looking forward to doing more of this”, Florence confirmed his official return to the water.
With his sights set on the 2020 Olympics his return couldn’t come soon enough.
Welcome back John John!
